| On April 1, no fooling, River Artist Emporium (RAE) will unveil a picturesque window of live art. In the window, an enframed couple will sit and enjoy a cup of coffee as they watch the passersby. Local photo-artist Ramona "Rae" Torre will be opening the newest and most inclusive art gallery and cultural venue in the City of Newburgh. This gallery is about diversity, access and inclusion. The emphasis is that our differences are what brings us together regardless of race, income or religion. Truly a sign that times are changing in Newburgh, ironically what once was the City of Newburgh Police satellite at 317 Liberty Street will now become a place where the community is invited in for art exhibits; live music jams, meetings and other programs of interest. Come meet the artist at her opening reception on Sunday, April 8 1-5 pm. Exhibits are open to the public, free of charge. |
